Office of the Superintendent Header

Dear Potter Elementary Parents/Guardians,

We trust this letter finds you in good health. We are excited to share some updates regarding renovations underway at Potter Elementary.

This year, spring break will commence two days earlier than originally planned. Scholars' last full day before spring break will be March 20, 2024. This decision was made to facilitate renovations on the west side of the building, which will continue until the end of the school year. During this time, classes will be relocated to the renovated classrooms and gym on the east side of the building, ensuring that all safety measures remain in place. This presents a wonderful opportunity for our scholars to experience an improved learning environment!

Ensuring a safe and conducive environment for our scholars is our top priority. To facilitate the renovation process, our teachers will require time to prepare and relocate classroom materials. They will continue to educate your children in the temporary classrooms until the end of the school year.

Please note that there will be NO SCHOOL from March 21st through April 5th. All Potter Elementary scholars and staff will resume classes on April 8, 2024, at the regular arrival time of 8:45 am. We appreciate your patience and support during this transitional period. We understand that changes may present challenges, but we are confident that these improvements will greatly benefit our scholars in the long run. Rest assured, we will strive to minimize disruptions and ensure a smooth transition.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to all parents for your continuous support and involvement in our school community. Your partnership is invaluable, and we are truly grateful for your unwavering commitment to your child's education. We eagerly anticipate the reopening of the entire building in the fall, which will include a state-of-the-art auditorium, a new main office suite with additional safety measures, and fully renovated classrooms.  Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the upcoming changes or any other matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to address any queries you may have.

Once again, thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to collaborating with you to create a positive and enriching educational experience for our scholars.

Sincerely,

Kevelin B. Jones II, Superintendent
